As our Director of Pro Shop Operations, you will be the driving force behind the daily success of our golf program. You’ll oversee all aspects of golf operations from course management and pro shop performance to member engagement and tournament execution ensuring every golfer’s experience is nothing short of outstanding. Your leadership will shape the culture of our golf community and set the standard for service, quality, and innovation.

Since our founding in 2002 of the Chimneys Golf Course, we have continuously enhanced our services and broadened our selection of uniquely designed itineraries to premier golfers throughout North Georgia. Guests enjoy top-tier 18-hole public golf course typically open 7 days a week year-round that offers native rockwork and excellent greens. Over the years, we have cherished the lasting friendships we’ve formed while creating special memories with our guests and partners.

During the summer of 2024, The Chimneys Golf Course underwent significant renovation, converting all greens from bent grass to ultra-dwarf Sunday Bermudagrass in order to present a more desirable playing surface and improve golf course sustainability.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Lead and manage all golf operations, including tee time scheduling, pace-of-play monitoring, and course presentation.
  • Oversee the pro shop, including merchandising strategy, inventory control, and sales performance.
  • Develop and execute a robust calendar of tournaments, clinics, and member events that foster engagement and excitement.
  • Manage and mentor golf staff, starters, and outside service teams, to deliver exceptional service.
  • Collaborate with the superintendent to ensure course conditions meet championship standards.
  • Monitor budgets, control expenses, and drive revenue growth through innovative programming and retail strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with members, guests, and the local golf community to enhance the club’s reputation.
  • Maintain the City’s alcohol license, beverages, and packaged food.

Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of golf course experience in event coordination, retail operations, merchandise, staffing, inventory, sales, and customer service.
  • Associate degree from and accredited college with emphasis in business administration, golf administration, hospitality, sports management or PGA Professional Golf Management degree.
  • PGA membership associate or class A PGA membership.
  • A citizen of the United States or has obtained legal work status.
  • Must pass a detailed background investigation.
  • Must be able to pass a credit check.
  • Works a fixed scheduled to include weekends, and/or holidays as required.
