A play by Robert Harling. Welcome to Truvy's Beauty Parlor in a small parish in modern-day Louisiana, STEEL MAGNOLIAS is the story of a close-knit circle of friends whose lives all seen to center around the two faded beauty parlor chairs. With M'Lynn and Shelby Eatenton preparing for Shelby's wedding, young Annelle Depuy Desoto is introduced to Truvy's customers as her new "glamour technician." Within the walls of the small parlor, you'll meet the sour-tempered Ouiser and her closest friend Clairee - recently widowed and looking for a diversion. Filled with humor and heartbreak, these "Steel Magnolias" make us laugh and cry as the realities of their lives in tiny Chiquapin Parish unfold through the eyes of these six interestingly "human" ladies.
This play is being produced in cooperation with the Winder Culutral Arts Department. For more information, please go to www.winderbarrowtheatre.org.
