William Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

A Presentation of the Winder-Barrow Community Theatre

A Comedy by William ShakespeareBelieved to have been written between 1590 and 1596, "A Midsummer Night's Dream", which is categorized as a comedy, is one of William Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world.

It portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, and Hippolyta. These include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of six amateur actors, who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set.

But watch out, the fairies are known to be a mischievous lot, with a great fondness for practical jokes. Be careful, where you step . . . you might just make an ass of yourself!
