Apalachee Theatre is presenting a moving, intimate musical entitled “The Spitfire Grill” by James Valcq and Fred Alley.

Set in a small, rural town in Wisconsin called Gilead, Spitfire Grill is a story of healing and forgiveness.

A young woman is released from prison and goes to Gilead because of a magazine article she read describing the beauty of autumn colors there. She brings unexpected appreciation for a town that had long stopped caring about itself.

Cast members include Carly Baker, Patrick Johnson, Megan Miller, Jacob Holloway, Emily Nix, and David Martin.

The music is a fusion of mountain folk, old time country, and Broadway ballads; sung beautifully by advanced chorus and drama students. It is directed by Susan Pierce, AHS’s directory of theatre.

This play is being produced in cooperation with the Winder Cultural Arts Department.
