Winder Police to host another series of town hall meetings

The City of Winder Police Department is holding another series of Town Hall Meetings that will be open to the public. The purpose is to inform citizens of recent activity within specific patrol zones as well as to address any concerns or questions from citizens in those areas. The first meeting is slated for Thursday July 26th at 6:00pm. It will be held at the City of Winder Colleen O. Williams Community Theatre on Athens Street.
Anyone is invited to attend. This meeting will focus specifically on the Zone 1 area of the City of Winder, which is primarily a business district. Zone 1 is designated by the police department as any property that is located south of the railroad tracks and within the city limits of Winder. The meeting will begin with a presentation by the police department that will point out recent scams targeting the business community and will also give recent crime statistics for Zone 1. The presentation will be followed by an open floor discussion to hear questions or suggestions from the audience. Citizens are encouraged to attend to learn how they can work together with the Winder Police Department to reduce the chances of becoming victims of these crimes.
Two additional meetings are also being planned for Zone 2 and Zone 3. Zone 2 includes any property north of the railroad tracks and east of Broad Street. Zone 3 includes property north of the railroad tracks and west of Broad Street. Dates, times and locations are tentative for Zone 2 and Zone 3 meetings and will be announced once they have been finalized.
